The following are mistakes found in the version of notes-1.pdf dated
September 13, 2006:


In the proof of Example 2.4 on page 2, the line beginning ``This
equals d(x,z)/(1 + d(x,z) + d(z,y)/(1 + d(z,y) - ...'' is missing two
close parentheses.  It should instead read ``This equals d(x,z)/(1 +
d(x,z)) + d(z,y)/(1 + d(z,y)) - ...''.   [Wing Sit, 2006.09.26]

In Remark 2.20 on page 4, ``limit pointns'' should instead say ``limit
points.'' [mrd, 2006.09.13]

In case iii of Theorem 2.41 on page 7, ``diem'' should instead of say
``diam'' and in romanized text instead of italicized. [mrd,

In the paragraph before Definition 2.46 on page 8, ``nowhere
differntiable'' should instead say ``nowhere differentiable.'' [mrd,
2006.09.13]

In the last paragraph of Corollary 2.49's proof on page 8,
``DeMorgan's laws'' should instead say ``De Morgan's laws.'' [mrd,
